Description

This gently-rising trail, accessed from Akamina Parkway, Red Rock Parkway, or the Waterton Townsite (longer hike) traverses the pass between Mt. Crandell in the east and Ruby Ridge in the west. Hikers are greeted by a small glacial lake (Lake Crandell) just below the west slope of Mt. Crandell - a popular fly fishing spot if you're keen. The trail is fully encompassed by a region burnt in the 2017 Kenow Wildfire, so perhaps does not yet possess its former splendor, but it is renewing! Foliage is currently dominated by fast-growing aspens and plenty of fireweed in the summer!

Flora & Fauna

Birds, deer, elk, bears, smal mammals
