Need to Know
Some parts of this trail may be closed (at a moments notice).
Description
Parking is just past the sign for the Class VI Road, on the right. This trail starts off Hedgehog Mountain Road and travels southward. In roughly 0.2 miles, the trail turns right at
Woods Road. The trail climbs up to the
Vista Spur, and turns left. It traverses the rocky ridge, past multiple views to the other end of
Woods Road. The trail passes through a small section of private property before climbing up to Hedgehog Hill.
As it descends, from Hedgehog Hill, it passes through an area with an active timber harvest. This area is impassible when "trail closed" signs are present. It passes by an old Boulder Quarry (on the right), where you can still see the feather and wedge marks on the stones. It passes a small mossy stream, then begins climbing up towards Wilson Hill.
It pops out of the woods into an open field, atop Wilson Hill. Here, there is a stone bench with some excellent views. The trail continues past Wilson Hill, then descends via a gravel road. The trail continues until it reaches Sky Farm Road. Here, there is limited parking for the High Five Forest.
