Description

The trail heads up the scree on the north side of Gray Peak to reach Oval Pass. The view from the pass is spectacular offering far reaching panoramas across Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The trail then descends very steeply on the west side of the pass, bending west and passing Tuckaway Lake. After two thirds of a mile, the trail turns south again, crosses a meadow and zigzags through trees to a small campground before reaching the Summit Trail.
