Description

This section begins at the southernmost point on the Montana Trail and heads northeast into the Snowcrest and Gravely Ranges before dropping into the Madison River at West Fork. This section is largely in the Beaverhead National Forest. Wilderness hiking etiquette is required when in Wilderness Study Areas (WSA). Bear spray and bear safety protocols are highly recommended.
