You'll start your journey at the Aylmer-Whittom park. There you'll see a welcome panel which you can stop to read if you read French or use a translate app if you don't speak it. Pass between the tree at your left and the panel to cross the road (road 138). There, go on your left for 100m. On your right, you'll see the start of the rapids trail (Sentier des Rapides).
150 meters farther you'll have a crossing. On your left, it's the original trail that follows the river and on your right, it's a shortcut. Ultimately, you'll reach the same place (another crossroad). You'll see our first awareness panel about some species at risk in the region. Near it, there is also a map to situate yourself. See them and continue on the right (north-east). If you look at the ground and on the tree for arrow it will be easy for you to reach the next stage: a big stretch of sand.
Keep your left and follow the arrow on the stretch of sand. At the end of the sandy stretch, you'll see our second awareness panel about wetlands ecosystem service and a map near buy. Continue on the left of these panels and you'll be crossing a wetland without damaging it or getting dirty. At the end of the wetland walkway climb the little hill and turn left.
Near there it will be possible to see a beautiful fall and our third awareness panel about wetlands.
After a kilometre, you'll cross an ATV trail and most go on the other side of the sand pile in front of you.
There if you are not scared of a little water and dirt you can go to your right or if you want to play it safe just follow the road in front of you to the bridge.
On your left on the south side of the bridge you'll see the beggening of the last part of the trail and our fourth awareness panel about water treatment. This part is used since long ago, so its the easiest part to rxg. near the end of this part you'll see our fifth and last awareness panel about natural disturbances.
At the northernmost point of the trail, you can admire the small lake in the photos.
