Description

Branching off to the left of Don Pedro Overlook Trail, cross Soaproot Ridge Trail after 200 yards and descend into Six Bit Gulch. The trail is rough but offers occasional views of Six Bit Gulch. Crossing the gulch can be difficult depending on the season. If there is a lot of water, you should be able to cross more easily further upstream.

The trail climbs quickly again on the other side rounding the hill at about 1.7 miles before descending again into Poor Mans Gulch. The creek is easy to cross. The final ascent is steep. The trail ends at a dirt road that leads to the tip of the peninsula overlooking Don Pedro Reservoir.
