Description

The Dixon Merritt Trail is a short lollipop hike that departs from shelter #1 in the picnic area and meanders through a forest of cedar trees. The trail departs from the left side of the shelter and enters the woods.

The singletrack dirt trail meanders through the woods. The trail isn't very far from the road, so you'll hear cars driving in and out of the park. There are a couple of small, seasonal streams that you can rock hop if it has been raining recently. You'll have the opportunity to see what a mature cedar forest looks like. When you come to a split, and you can go in either direction as it is a loop. Rocks and roots cover the trail, so watch your step. The trail comes back to the junction and you follow the trail back to the picnic area.
