Description

This trail closely parallels the West Walker River on its western shore. Branching off the West Walker River Trail #046, it crosses the river just before a sequence of rapids. This crossing is only recommended for livestock, a hiker friendly ford is half a mile further at the intersection with Fremont Lake Trail #48. After the junction, the trail ascends towards Long Canyon and stays within the river meadows for the rest of its course. Enter Lower Piute Meadows at about 2.5 miles. Upper Long Lake Trail #22052 is on the right at 3.5 miles. Cross the West Walker river again and rejoin the West Walker River Trail #046.
