This is a horse friendly trail so you'll find horse droppings along the way.

Access to the trail from Heart Bar Campground is not well marked but there is the typical thin metal post and obvious opening on both sides of the road to show where the trail is, which is located at the depression in the road as you come right off CA-38 onto 1N02 (the access road to Heart Bar CG).

The trail basically goes around the base of Heart Bar campground, which is located on a bluff.
