Description

The trail starts on the west side of the parking lot. After 100 yards, the trail splits, stay right. Another 200 yards ahead, you cross a typically dry creek over a wooden bridge. The trail then turns sharply right to follow the creek bed north.

Lake Sonoma quickly comes into view but you never quite reach the shoreline to have an unobstructed view. After about 0.75 miles, the trail starts its gentle but steady ascent towards Rockpile Road. At 2 miles, you reach the archery range and soon thereafter the parking lot.
