Need to Know

Large bears are living well off the abundance of food in the valley along the Rapid River and the bottom of this trail.

Description

From West Fork Rapid River Trail #113, cross the meadow and the river while making a lot of noise for the very large bear that lives there. Climb the side of the mountain to a large sloped shelf that is the Potter Place. Explore but be respectful. From there you can continue South and upward to meet up with Oxbow Trail #71.

Flora & Fauna

Apple trees, cherry trees, pear trees, raspberries, blackberries, thimbleberries, elderberries, tomatillos, asparagus, onions, garlic, watercress and other food are abundant at the bottom of this trail and along West Fork Rapid River Trail #113
