“Riverside trail to Majerus Falls from Pyramid campground.
”
There is a pit toilet at the parking for Pyramid Mountain trail.
Description
The trail begins at a fork when the Pyramid Mountain trail begins to ascend to the east - roughly the 3 km point on the Pyramid Mountain trail. Follow the signed trail for Majerus Falls on the left which quickly turns to a less-maintained trail with lots of deadfall but still easily followed. After about 3 or 4 km there is a camp site on the edge of the slowly moving (at this particular point) Murtle river. Beyond this point there are only (possibly illegal) unofficial camp sites all the way up to the relatively inaccessible Horseshoe Falls, beyond Majerus Falls. Majerus Falls is impressive and easily viewed form the elevated viewpoint on a cliff overlooking the river. A moderately sized island splits the river right at the falls.
Lots of blowdown. Trail needs some clearing in spots. Even less hike able beyond Majerus Falls.
