Trail may be muddy during winter and early spring.

Need to Know

The western end of the trail leads to a connector trail leading to the Oakes Quarry Perimeter Trail.

Description

This trail leads through a small but healthy riparian forest. Portions of it are invaded with Amur honeysuckle, but this plant has not completely taken over the understory.

There is a grove of redbud trees around the western edge of the trail near a bridge so they may be pleasant to view during April when they are in flower.

Flora & Fauna

Eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis), Hog Peanut (Amphicarpaea bracteata), Black walnut (Juglans nigra), Eastern Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis), Eastern cottonwood (Populus deltoides), Amur honeysuckle (Lonicera maackii), Box elder (Acer negundo).
