Features Views

This trail is only accessible at low tide. (Note I suggested the difficult rating since this is inside an urban park, and someone could be stranded at high tide. The path itself intermediate at low tide.)

Need to Know

Part of the trail is only accessible at low tide.

Description

North of the paved portion of Owens Beach, continue walking along the beach. The first quarter mile is a wide gravel beach walk accessible at most tide levels. Eventually the trail turns into a clay shelf only accessible at moderately low tides. Seals and sea lions love to hang out at the far end of the trail.

Note: The Owens Beach parking lot is closed until summer 2022, so this trail can be accessed from either the Promenade or via Nelly's Gnarly Descent .

Flora & Fauna
