To access the East Foss Farm, park at one of the pullouts on the south side of Foss Farm road abutting the UNH property. There is a short (0.1mi) dirt road leading to the information kiosk, but this road is designated for UNH vehicles only.

Please take care to leash and clean up after dogs.

From the parking pull-out on Foss Farm road, hike ~0.1 mi to the information kiosk for East Foss Farm. From here, trend left to find the intersection of the Blue Trail and Red Trail. The path is wide and typically well maintained by the UNH Office of Woodlands and Natural Areas. The Blue trail can be considered the central route for this area. On the west end of the loop other trails options present themselves, including the White Trail which terminates at the end of Orchard Drive (alternate parking area) and the Green Trail which navigates through the McDonald Lot property.

From the UNH website: The East Foss Farm, located on Foss Farm Road in Durham, NH, is a 164-acre tract of land managed for multiple uses, including teaching, research, wood production, and wildlife. There are seven major habitat types within the East Foss Farm property: clearcut, early successional, mature hardwood, mature softwood, riparian, and wetland/shrub swamp. East Foss Farm is frequently visited by UNH faculty and the student body to observe the different forest management techniques that have been used on this land. A trail system provides access to the property.
