Stare at the junction of the Middle Fore Conejos Trail #712 & North Fork Trail #714. Cross the North Fork Conejos River--ankle deep or deeper, 20+ feet across.
After the river crossing, the trail ascends steeply for a little bit but then becomes very gradual. This section of the trail only goes to the top of Conejos Falls. Marvelous views.
