“Short trail, partly dirt road. Orange rectangular blazed. Connects Shelter/Area 19 to Cougar Trail and Oak Trail.
”
The upper park area closes earlier than the lower part of the park - generally shortly before dusk and the lower gate is locked.
Need to Know
Seasonal restrooms near Shelters/Areas 18/19. Lots of parking can be used for this trail between these 2 picnic areas.
Description
From the end of the parking lot between Shelters/Areas 18/19 there is a dirt road (access to a gas well) that is the beginning of this trail. There is a sign and the trail is blazed with orange rectangles. Past the gas well, the road stops and it becomes just a regular trail. The area just above the gas well is clay and when wet is very slippery. The trail continues mostly level until it reaches the the junction of Cougar Trail continuing straight or Oak Trail turning right and down the hill. There is posted private property to the left (west) near this end.
