Description

This spur trail from the out-and-back Haystack Trail provides an alternative route for anyone interested in making a loop. It's a mostly boardwalk trail that winds through spruce-hemlock forest and muskegs.
The trail is a great year-round trail provided that the road is snow-free.
Often there is an "Agents of Discovery" app mission created by the USFS that engages children with wildlife and trail challenges.

Flora & Fauna

Spruce-hemlock forest, also passes through open muskeg.
Sometimes can see migratory birds, trumpeter swans, and moose depending on the season.
