Description
City lake natural area is a Cookeville city park located at City Lake. It has a boat ramp for launching into the lake which is popular with kayakers and fisherman alike. It includes the historic remains of Cookeville's first water treatment plant. There are several picnic tables and grassy areas to have a nice summer day. The park is also an official arboretum.
The trailhead is at the end of the parking lot. It is a 0.3 mile out and back trail. The first 3/4 of the trail is paved and very easy. The last quarter goes from pavement to gravel and has a slight hill and dip. The trail loops around a second historic building and ends at City Lake falls and includes a small wooden viewing platform.
The park is open
Summer 7am - 10pm
Winter 9am - 6pm
