Features Historical Significance

Family Friendly Being a rail trail, this path is relatively flat and easy for kids. Additionally, it is fairly short.

Description

This trail is the main trail in the park. It follows the path of the Seven Sisters Railroad which was William Gillette's miniature railroad. It is blazed purple and is also marked by the 7SRR symbol. The trail here is the section of the Train Trail east of the park road.

The trail begins by the parking area near the park's ponds. It follows the trace of the railroad until it diverts at the site of an old bridge that is no longer stable. It turns to the right slightly into the woods before returning to the trail. The next notable landmark is the old railroad tunnel. This tunnel was made for the Seven Sisters Railroad and is a marvelous hidden treasure. The trail continues before turning right and forming a loop at the end of the trail.
