Need to Know

Little Jacks Creek Wilderness Area

Description

The first 1.5 miles are old doubletrack all the way to the remains of the Frank Perjue cabin. (beyond the cabin is all Little Jacks Creek Wilderness). Go left and downhill to a sign pointing to the left for the Perjue Canyon Trail.

The trail enters the canyon immediately, it's a slow go for a bit. The trail is well-maintained but, there are sections of loose shale and a few creek crossings. About 4.2 miles in, the trail goes through an overgrown area and then improves rapidly again.

The trail becomes a doubletrack again that takes you back out of the Little Jacks Creek Wilderness and back on top of the desert floor.

Flora & Fauna
