Description

This trail is a loop beginning and ending at the easternmost point of the Red Trail and can be a good addition for folks looking to add some additional distance to their hike in this area.

From the Red Trail the trail runs south on a sandy doubletrack fire line and follows the border of the forest to the east and the scrub area to the west. At the southern end of the fire line the trail turns into singletrack and turns east through the woods for a short distance, emerging under some power lines. From here the trail follows the power lines to the north towards the northern edge of the property.

This portion of the trail is mostly firm doubletrack. Near the northern fence, the trail turns back to the west and returns to singletrack for a short distance through the woods again to rejoin the Red Trail. The singletrack portions at both the north and south ends of the loop travel through low lying ground, so can be muddy or flooded during wetter times of the year.

At each major turning the county has placed signs and/or yellow blazes to mark the route, so the trail is quite easy to follow.
