Description

Starting at either the Lead "dog park" or the Deadwood Mickelson Trail the trail is well-marked with "Homestake Trail" signs and white diamond trail markers. It is a steep ascent from either end but easier overall from Lead to Deadwood (N to S). Food and drink at both ends. Some shade, great views.
