This is the main access trail for the Hammond Hill trail network, starting from the Hammond Hill Rd parking lot. Starting with an extended climb up into the forest, the trail crosses a dirt road (Star Stanton Rd), and continues on along the edge of an open field, providing some great views. Expect a mix of singletrack and doubletrack along dirt and root-laden trail surfaces.

During the early summer, red-spotted newts are very common in this area. Careful not to trod on the cute little creatures!
