Description

Park at the visitor center, which is across the road from the trailhead.

The Chinkapin Trail begins at a small covered trailhead stand. Continue onward to find a doubletrack dirt road which winds through dense forest with occasional clearings. This trail eventually reaches the lake, but it is not a desirable beach/play area, becoming quite swampy at some points. long the way, keep your eyes open for the wild pigs and deer that inhabit this area.
