Overview
This is a great cool season hike. The trails are faint to non existent. Lots of rocks and uneven terrain so bring good footwear. Keep an eye out for deer, antelope, and birds of prey.
Need to Know
There is no shade and this could be a real scorcher in the summer heat. There is no restroom or water.
Description
Park off the road at the Oregon Trail marker. Looking north across the road note the rhyolite cliffs. Hike up the draw to the left of the cliffs. At the ridgeline, look left and note the cliffs that surround Teapot Dome. Hike along the north side of Teapot Dome for easier access to the top. Locate the three-foot rock cairn and enjoy the surrounding views.
