Need to Know

The access road to the ranger station is likely impassable when wet. Only drive here in an SUV or similar vehicle. Bring extra food and water.

Description

There is no trail. The hike follows a river with abundant river rocks and potentially deep water. Wear water shoes, bring hiking poles, and be very careful not to fall and injure yourself. There are no services and you are unlikely to encounter anyone else. The deeper you go into the reserve, the more likely it is that it will rain.

Flora & Fauna

Tropical birds and the usual Costa Rican jungle denizens.
