No dogs. Watch for poison oak.
This is a relatively steep trail with large steps, it is definitely more difficult than the elevation gain suggests. The trail alternates between hard-packed dirt, sand, and clay; it is sometimes wide doubletrack and has sections of narrow trail overgrown with poison oak. It's quite a slog to hike up, but very fun to hike down.
The trail begins on Hazard Canyon Road
, about 100ft from its intersection with Pecho Valley Road. There is a faint trail on the left with an iron gate about 50 ft. up the trail. Pass the gate and proceed uphill; the trail widens after this. The trail officially terminates at Broderson Peak, connecting to Broderson Peak Trail
. You can continue downhill in order to connect to Hazard Canyon Road
...but this is an unsanctioned connector.
