Description

Barton Lake was drained in the 70's or 80's and the singletrack takes advantage of the side slopes along the edges. Most of the trail is winding singletrack (some places have extremely sharp turns) and there are some challenging climbs up the old dam and quite fast descents back down!

The area is well maintained, and I didn't notice any poison ivy. There are lots of old growth cottonwoods and cedar trees all around.

The trail is bi-directional, but the locals took me on a tour and recommended clockwise, however some like to hike it counter-clockwise.

This trail is tucked down in the trees and is well protected from the wind, it's a favorite place to hike in the winter when it's too cold to hike Lake Wilson.
