Family Friendly A good beginner's hike.

This is a state park, so you'll need a vehicle sticker to park inside. Otherwise, you can hike in for free.

Description

This trail is like Satchel Creek Cove Trail and Boulder Bluff Trail, mowed paths through hay fields with no tread. This is a challenging hike if you tack on all the other trails along with it, or hike this one a few times in a row. Heck, maybe you'll help build the tread, and I won't have to work with the lake managers to accomplish this!

You're sure to scare up deer, turkey, quail and other typical Kansas game as this trail gets little use. I didn't see a bit of horse poo on this one either. There's a permanent deer blind up for viewing wildlife...I posted a pic of it, but didn't go inside.

The trail is a mowed path, no tread. A heck of a workout, I promise!

Kinda interesting, the mowed trail is green where the rest of the field is yellow.
