Need to Know

Some portions of this trail coincide with a snowmobile trail; please be aware of snowmobilers.

Description

This section starts from the foot of Field House Drive, in Andover. It follows a dirt road, bordering a sports field down to the Northern Rail Trail. While the original tread of the SRK G crossed over the NRT, it's been altered to follow right along the Northern Rail Trail. It follows the Northern Rail Trail until it crosses over a bridge; here, the trail turns left onto Bridge Road. It follows this road, then stays straight to enter the woods onto a rough and rocky road.

It passes below some powerlines, then continues following Dawes Road.It crosses over Morey Hill Road and continues straight. At Twist Hill Road, the trail follows the road to the left. There was an active logging operation at the crest of the hill; please use caution when traveling through this area.

The trail descends slightly down to Morey Pond Road (on the left). Here, you can travel an optional 1 mile to Morey Pond. It exits the woods near a sheep farm. Continue along Twist Hill Road until you reach Kearsarge Mountain Road. The trail turns left to follow Kearsarge Mountain Road. It skirts the edge of the parking area to the trailhead of Barlow and Winslow Trail. This section of the SRK G ends here.
