Need to Know

Parking at this particular gate has space for one car. Not sure if there is additional parking elsewhere.

Description

The trail is a fun one!

In early fall, extra caution needs to be used between the hickory nuts and the hedge apples (falling from trees, rolling an ankle on one). The back half of the trail is really overgrown in the warm months and the vegetation is well over my head in places. The rail is not marked—the first time I did this trail I missed the intended path and ended up going an extra mile and basically had to really work through to get back to my vehicle. If you follow the grassy field instead of turning off on the field road, you'll end up back on the trail.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of tree species, squirrels, rabbits, lots of different birds, ducks on the river, deer, wildflowers. Occasional snake.
