Need to Know

There's a large parking area across from the trail entrance.

Description

Beltz Trail follows an old road. The trail starts a few yards from the blockhouse at the Boy Scout Camp entrance. After 3/4 miles or so you'll reach a level area and an open field with a few dying apple trees. This was the Beltz family's farm. Their property was one of those bought by the federal government when they created the Recreational Demonstration Area during the Depression.

Flora & Fauna

Primary tall second growth hardwoods. The area was extensively timbered in the last century.
