ADA Accessible This is a smooth paved asphalt trail that is wheelchair friendly.

Family Friendly There are educational signs along the trail explaining various natural features.

Civilian hikers need a Fort Belvoir visitors pass which is available at the Tulley Gate Visitors Center.

Need to Know

Park at the first parking lot on the right after entering the Tulley Gate. It is a small lot with only a few parking spots. The trailhead is at this parking lot.

Description

The loop along one of the marsh basins is a very smooth asphalt trail with plenty of signs explaining flora and natural features along the way.

Flora & Fauna

Great for birders. I didn't see wildlife beyond squirrels, but I'm sure the marsh basin along the northwest side of the loop would attract deer, fox, and wading birds.

This sign is along an overgrown (possibly closed) section of the Pohick Overlook Trail. Go down the steep hill immediately after the sign to get to the good part of the trail.
