Description
The "vallei van de zwarte beek" ("valley of the black brook") is one of the largest natural reserve areas of Flanders. This hike will get you through all its beauty, while keeping it interesting for kids.
The trail starts and ends at the visitor center "watersnip", located next to a large playground area. Just follow the red markers. It is largely unpaved and moves through heath and forest. There are a few paved sections when the trail moves past some houses.
Don't forget to take boots, as it might get muddy!
Flora & Fauna
Birds like the black woodpecker, woodlark, bluethroat and common snipe are protected species that reside in the nature reserve.
