Description

The trail begins at the far north side of the parking lot at Roads End up Lamoille Canyon. The trail immediately begins climbing and doesn't let up until you reach the lake. The grade is steady, but it never gets ridiculously steep. The trail rewards hikers with lovely views of Lamoille Canyon and the impressive rock formations that line its steep walls. On a hot day, the Island Lake can provide you with a refreshing soak.

This is a pretty popular trail.

Flora & Fauna

Indian paintbrush, fireweed, balsam root, daisies, bluebells, penstemon, lupine, hawks, deer, mountain goats.
