Parking is free in all Jefferson County Open Space parks.

Prairie Falcon is a mostly wide trail with some singletrack along South Valley Road on the south end. Be careful of ruts on the trail near South Valley Road; runoff tends to run along the trail to create traps for shoes and bike tires. The west side of the trail is in better condition with crusher-fine gravel and a bridge over a creek or marsh. The north end of the trail connects to two other South Valley Park trails: the hiker-only Swallow Trail and the main Coyote Song Trail on the east.

You might encounter birds and small mammals along the trail along with some wildflowers, including Indian Paintbrush, which is common in the area. Larger mammals, like coyote, fox, bear, and mountain lion are known to frequent the area, but park visitors are unlikely to see them as they are generally reclusive. Rattlesnakes and Bull snakes have been seem on the trail. Give them wide berth.
