Parking via the Pickall day use area is restricted to those renting shelters there. This trail must be accessed from other locations.

Description

Heading south from the Pickall parking lot, this trail parallels the Festivus trail for a stretch although it does so as it descends the ridge line. This path is considerably difficult, with numerous obstacles including rocks, roots, and downed trees. The trail tends to be thin running along the ridge, leaving little room for missteps, with a steep drop-off to the east.

Following a tributary of the Cedar Branch, the trail offers scenic views of the stream from above as it gradually descends toward the Patapsco. The final stretch connects this trail to the Pickall Trail via steeper descent with plenty of obstacles of its own.
