Description
The trail continues its descent down Browns Canyon, which is typically dry. In the springtime, there may be some water moving through the creek bed, but I would not rely on it. Browns Canyon opens up into a large section of irrigated farms and grazing land.
At certain times of year, these green fields serve as a welcome reprieve from the 80+ previous miles of prairie filled with sage and yellow grasses. The trail heads north on Pothole Road until it connects with Idaho Highway 78, which heads west to Bruneau Dunes State Park (a fun area for sandboarding and stargazing) and east to the hamlet of Hammet.
Flora & Fauna
Usual flora and fauna for the Bruneau area: hawks, vultures, crows, grouse, antelope, mule deer, jackrabbits, bighorn sheep.
