Need to Know

Portions of this trail have become overgrown and may be difficult to find at first. Tall grass throughout the trail also warrants extra tick precautions before and after hiking.

Description

This trail cuts through a right-of-way field, offering an easier connection between Granite Area trails and Woodstock Area trails. The path follows a steady decline as it heads southwest, with a mostly flat first half.

About two thirds of the way into the trail, there is a steeper drop-off as a small stream cuts into the hill leaving a sharper grade. At the base of this drop, there is a short connector to the Horse Hockey trail for those looking to add a challenge to their hike. Across the small stream, the path continues downhill for a short stretch before connecting with the Patapsco Thru Trail Woodstock Section.
