This a trail is a great introduction to the longer trails in the park. Unlike most many trails in the park, you stay lower in the valley and you don't have lots of precipitous climbs. The slower ascent of this trail allows one to appreciate the slow change in environment that happens as you move deeper into the valley.

Many folks stop a lot earlier than what you see described by the GPS track.
