The normal parking lot off Hwy 61 is now open after road construction on Hwy 61 was completed. Parking at the top is accessible but you have to drive into a residential area to get to the trailhead.

Need to Know

Limited parking on the upper lot. Just down the road from Lions Tap Restaurant.

Description

A lot of steep climbs and descents through both wooded areas and some open meadows. You have to stay alert as roots and stumps are throughout the trail. It's an easier hike if you go counter-clockwise, although then you'll be hiking down some steep slopes.

Flora & Fauna

A lot a trees and wildflowers. Wild turkey, deer, and small animals abound. From the bluffs you'll see bald eagles, hawks, and turkey vultures.
