Description

This trail circles around the bison range and along the Minnesota River. It provides a great overlook of the river valley and leads you to the Seppmann Mill. The trail is mostly flat and gives a good impression of the prairie and bison range. The terrain is not too serious but can be very uneven and rocky/muddy/sandy in some spots. The cars that drive through have to give you respect for hiking around the enclosure.

Flora & Fauna

Where else will you see 100% purebred bison in Minnesota? Also, there are deer and prairie plants.

I hiked the full loop around the bison enclosure with Teo. Hot and muggy. Woods on the north side very buggy. Easy cruise, despite the heat. — 1h 15m
