Features Geological Significance

Family Friendly The short distance, minimal elevation gain, clear markings, easy access, and interpretive signs make this a good choice for families.

Description

The Mariah Mesa Trail briefly traverses the top of the mesa and showcasing the plants and geology of the area as it loops back to its start.

Views of the nearby, imposing Mt. Graham to the west and the Gila Mountains to the north make this short, easy hike worthwhile for visitors to Roper Lake State Park, particularly near sunrise or sunset, or for stargazing.

Flora & Fauna

This trail includes signed examples of native flora, including Mormon Tea, Wolfberry, Creosote, and Mesquite.
