Features River/Creek

Family Friendly Easy riverside trail with access to many picnic areas.

Description

This hike-only trail starts at the Happy Creek day use area and ends at the Alder picnic area where you can continue walking along a trail that is thereafter shared with bikes. You'll soon get near the edge of the river and you'll have some nice views of it on and off through the trees for the remainder of the trail. The forest is called "ancient" because some of the trees are old growth. Right before Alder picnic area there is a short path you can take down to the river. There are also multiple spurs you can use to make loops with other trails in the area.
