Need to Know

There are restrooms at the trailhead so you can change clothes and get cleaned up if you Uber/Lyft to the trailhead.

Description

First 2.8 miles is up a shallow sloped rocky road. At the Kulana'ahane Trail sign cross the stream bed then take the trail on the right that climbs steeply up the hill. Very steep 2,000 climb over the next 2 miles to the summit. A few really steep sections with ropes to help from slipping - gloves would be a good to have. Keep an eye on the weather - a rain shower could make the trail very treacherous in no time. At the summit you can see the old radar site at the top of the closed Stairway to Heaven trail.

Beautiful hike, had everything. Scenic views, mixed trails including sections with ropes. Very muddy. Got caught in the rain on the way down 11.6mi — 6h 50m

Rainy, muddy, windy. Absolutely epic! Hardest trail I've done, but the views were unmatched. Mad props to anyone who finishes this trail! 4.8mi

A great hike! About 10 miles round trip. Definitely leave early because it takes about 3-4 hrs either way, and you'll want to relax at the top! 10.2mi — 8h 10m
