This trail follows an old mining road that has been decommissioned and criss-crosses a stream bed much of the way. It is rough and has many steep pitches. Overall, the trail weaves through ponderosa pines, oak, and juniper.
There is a fair amount of catclaw in spots. East to west this is a tough climb.
This trail is not numbered or maintained and doesn't see a lot of traffic. Access is via Potts Creek Trail #327 from the east (bottom) or Thumb Butte Road at the top.
