Trail is mostly flat. There is free parking and room for 10-12 cars just off Old Plantation Road. It starts downhill on a rocky slope, crosses through a powerline right-of-way, and dips back into the woods. Surprisingly featured for its location; there are a few rocky sections where good footing is important, a couple of constructed wood bridges crossing a creek, and some pretty wooded scenery on the way to the river.
At the river, there is room for tents and a few overlooks.
