Description

The eastern trailhead for this passage is located in the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE). From there, follow a mix of country roads and sidewalks that lead through to downtown Landrum and around Lake Lanier. Past Lake Lanier, look for an information kiosk before the Vaughn Creek crossing. You'll pass two ponds, the second of which offers a 0.5 mile side loop which leads to a 30 ft waterfall. The Southern Blue Ridge Escarpment (aka Blue Wall) begins at miles 12 to 14, and climbs steeply to Vaughns Gap (trailhead for Poinsett Reservoir Passage).
