Description

You can pick up this trail from the Deception Falls Picnic Area parking lot between the toilets and the picnic area. It is paved and gently descends around the back of the picnic area through old growth forest. This trail crosses Deception Creek on a metal bridge. The trail terminates at a roomy gravel platform on the east side of the river. A spur made of stone stairs and concrete leads under HWY-2 to the Deception Falls Viewpoint. The stairs would be disappointing for anyone with limited mobility as the HWY-2 overpass blocks good views of the falls; however, the cascades under the trail bridge are still lovely.

You can take the Nature Trail Loop to a spur that overlooks Deception Creek a few feet to the north (also wheelchair accessible). The rest of the Nature Trail is not wheelchair accessible, but very easy going.
